In Mexico, residences, care homes, shelters and long-stay establishments that house older adults care for vulnerable people who depend on daily care. To respond quickly to an emergency, these settings must have staff trained in first aid and CPR.
适用场所
Care home (casa hogar), residence, shelter (albergue) and long-stay establishment for older adults, regulated by NOM-031-SSA3-2012 (social assistance for adults and older adults at risk and vulnerability) and the Law on the Rights of Older Persons.
急救要求
CPR and first aid are a mandatory module of the nursing-assistant program, and these establishments must have staff able to act in an emergency, provide resuscitation and use an automated external defibrillator (AED). The exact requirements vary by establishment type and by the population served.
A recognized, up-to-date first-aid and CPR certificate is the way to meet this standard; it is in addition to the staff's occupational training and must be renewed periodically.
